Welcome Shiraga Atsuhide

RYDER is pleased to announce that Shiraga Atsuhide, an experienced geotechnical engineer, has joined the team as part of a strategic collaboration with our Japanese representatives and agents, Airu Engineering. Shiraga’s appointment reflects RYDER’s commitment to expanding our presence in the growing Japanese market and enhancing our capability to deliver innovative solutions in offshore and onshore energy projects.

With over 25 years of practical experience in geotechnical engineering, Shiraga brings a wealth of expertise in investigation, design, and construction for soft ground and environmental vibration. He has published 19 technical papers on soft ground countermeasures and environmental vibration and has been involved in more than five patents for new technology development. His deep knowledge and skills will be instrumental in supporting RYDER’s projects in Japan and beyond.

Shiraga’s professional background includes the development of original database software containing over 100,000 ground survey data points on land in Japan, demonstrating his strong analytical capabilities and commitment to advancing the field. He has also gained valuable experience in the onshore wind power sector, which he plans to leverage for future offshore wind power projects, aligning with RYDER’s strategic focus on renewable energy.

Shiraga’s qualifications include:

  • First-Class Civil Engineer Operation and Management Engineer
  • Certificate of Qualification for Managing Engineer
  • Assistant Professional Engineer
  • Class A Hazardous Materials Engineer’s License
  • GWO-BST
  • STCW A-VI/1 Safety Familiarization Training 1Day (SPC)

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, Kinki University in Japan, and has further studied environmental vibration at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Okayama University.
